Beltronics (BEL) RX-65 Pro Aging Extremely Well

The more I drive with the BEL RX65-Pro from Beltronics, the more I appreciate this sleek radar detector. This detector is thoroughly sorted out, in my opinion.

It consistently provides Valentine-like performance across all the radar bands I encounter on the highways while providing superior ergonomic qualities at the same time. The diminutive RX-65 Pro remains one of my favorite radar detectors of all time.

Do you run it in USA mode Bob?

Yes sir, I do. I believe that Ka reception is hotter in this mode than when it is in Ka Intl mode.

Veil Guy- Here it is November 2013. I am still driving with an RX 65 and have been very happy with it. But I was thinking about upgrading and looking at the Escort Passport Max. Was trying to find a write up from you on the Rx 65 but was curious of your overall thoughts on whether this is a good upgrade to do. What other detectors in that upper range do you consider worthwhile nowadays?

Truth be told, I am not a fan of the Max. The RX65 is a great detector and remains so. If you are looking for GPS augmentation, you may want to consider keeping your RX65 and using a free program like Waze (if you have a smart phone).

The 9500ix can still be gotten (builtin GPS), but that is not one of my favorites, either.

The current Redline and V1C are also standouts.
